Certificate in Dance Teaching (Ballet)

The Certificate in Dance Teaching (Ballet) (CTD) is a part-time distance learning programme enabling students to study alongside their personal and professional commitments.

Professional Dancers’ Graduate Teaching Diploma

For dancers wishing to gain an internationally-renowned dance teaching qualification.

RAD Access Route

Currently delivered with Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, The Boston Conservatory at Berklee (The Conservatory), USA, and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), the Access Route to RAD Teacher Registration gives you the knowledge, understanding, and skills required by ballet teachers at the start of their careers. With a focus on the RAD’s ballet syllabi, you will explore the development and progression of ballet technique which will complement the teaching skills acquired in your programme of study with an approved RAD partnership institution.

Assistant Teacher Award

The Assistant Teacher Award is aimed at 14–18-year-old dance students wishing to take their first steps towards a career in dance teaching. The Award is open to students studying and taking classes in any dance genre, and provides opportunities to practice, develop and demonstrate a range of practical and professional skills required for successful dance teaching.

Pathway to RAD Registered Teacher Status (RTS)

This new course is aimed at teachers with a ballet teaching qualification at Level 4 or higher, or equivalent, and RAD RTS status will be conferred on successful completion of each of the course modules.

Benesh

The Benesh Institute is the international centre for Benesh Movement Notation (BMN). Since 1997 it has been incorporated within the RAD. It aims to help the dance profession preserve its heritage and protect choreographic copyright.
