Bursaries, Scholarships and Awards

RAD bursaries, scholarships and competitions provide opportunities for young people to gain performance experience and to further their study and training.

The 2023 Australian Advanced 1 Bursary

The Australian Advanced 1 Bursary is a scholarship of up to $5000 awarded to an outstanding student to further their RAD training. Former participants of the Bursary have gone on to place in the Fonteyn (formerly the Genée) and join professional companies around the world. In 2023 we launch a brand new mixed format for the Australian Advanced 1 Bursary to ensure the competition is accessible by all eligible candidates, with filmed preliminaries and a live final.
