Lockdown extend in NSW, as VIC eases restrictions further

The NSW Government have announced a one-week extension to lockdown in NSW until midnight on Friday 16 July in the morning press conference today. Businesses must remain closed for the duration.

RAD Australia joins Ausdance NSW in lending our support to a petition run by the Mayor of the City of Sydney to lower the threshold for the latest government financial support package for businesses. Currently, sole traders earning less than $75k per year are ineligible for small business government support during this ongoing lockdown. This is the link to the petition. When questioned on the package this morning the Premier Gladys Berejiklian said “if we need to do more we will” so we encourage Members to add their voice to this petition.

Meanwhile in Victoria, the Government announced a further easing of restrictions from Friday 9 July including an increased capacity of 1 person per 2 square metres with no venue limits. The requirement for mask-wearing has also been removed.
