Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best. One of the important elements used in the PBT method is muscle memory which helps to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment. Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance with a team of physiotherapists.
The programme offers face to face teacher training workshops where teachers are required to complete a practical syllabus designed by founder, Marie Walton-Mahon, after which they are equipped and certified to teach their students. Besides workshops in physical locations, there is a budding online training program where teachers can access the complete exercise library to learn PBT and are able to apply for certification online.
PBT has 4000+ certified teachers worldwide. What started as a programme to improve technique in ballet dancers is now being appreciated and incorporated in training by all forms of dancers, athletes, physiotherapists and even footballers!
