Join our global dance community in taking class with RAD@Home

As the home for dance, the RAD is here to support you when you can’t leave yours. As such, we’ve created RAD@Home to provide a whole raft of content to help you make the most of dancing at home.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be adding online dance classes for all ages and abilities as well as fun and useful features such as exclusive Dance Gazette articles, interviews and more.

Our series of FREE online ‘Silver Swans’ ballet exercise classes will take place every Wednesday at 1pm BST or 9.30pm ACST (Adelaide & Darwin), 10pm AEST (Melbourne, Brisbane & Sydney) and 8pm AWST (Perth) Australia time, designed to get the older generation moving to the music at home. From experienced dancers to those that don’t know their plié from their pointe, older learners of any ability are invited to try out free Silver Swans classes. Shared in manageable bitesize videos, viewers can work on these during the week before moving onto the next exercise.

The classes can also be viewed on our YouTube channelFacebook page and IGTV.

Children’s online exercises

For little ballet dancers stuck at home, we have compiled exercises to keep you fit and practising.

There are videos for different levels (some ballet experience is necessary, these are not exercises for beginners), suitable for either female or male identifying dancers. The workouts are taught by Jane Tucker, RAD Registered Teacher and teacher for the Academy of Northern Ballet. All the music is composed and played by Robert Sudall.

The videos include cardio warm-up, floor exercises for strength and flexibility, foot exercises.

Important information

An adult should make sure that the space is safe for these exercises and also assist their child to achieve the correct execution of these moves.
