Congratulations to the RAD’s Vice President and a former Examiner who have been honoured in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

RAD Australia sends its warm congratulations to Vice President, David McAllister AC who has been awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia Medal in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Mr McAllister has been previously awarded an AM and was upgraded to the highest award the country can bestow for his “eminent service to the performing arts, particularly to ballet both nationally and internationally, to artistic directorship and dance education, and as a mentor” We are immensely proud to call him our Vice President and are grateful for the ongoing support and inspiration he continues to offer the Academy, our Members and students.

Congratulations also go to former RAD Examiner and Registered Teacher Marie Walton-Mahon who was awarded an OAM for services to dance. Marie is the founder and creator of Progressing Ballet Techinque (PBT) a programme designed to help students advance in all dance forms by training muscle memory. PBT focuses on core stability, weight placement and alignment.

Wider industry congratulations go to Lee Christofis AM for his significant services to dance and Diane Heaton OAM and Geoffrey Wark OAM also recognised for services to dance in other dance genres.
