New South Wales Member Hilary Kaplan presented with a Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Dance by Rebecca Taylor
Late last year we announced that New South Wales Member Hilary Kaplan had been awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Dance (FRAD) in recognition of her service to the Academy and the art of dance.
On Tuesday 23 February 2021 at a celebratory high tea in Sydney RAD Australia National Director Rebecca Taylor presented the award amongst family, friends and the RAD community. Before the presentation guests enjoyed a video montage with messages from Hilary’s own teacher, colleagues and former students including Steven McRae now a Principal with The Royal Ballet, who all passed on their congratulations to the RAD Registered Teacher, examiner and tutor.
Former student Kerrie Smith, now a RAD Examiner herself also spoke to the tremendous impact Hilary has had on her thousands of students over the years at her popular studio Alegria Dance Studios in Woolloomooloo, NSW.
