New Royal Academy of Dance Chief Executive, Tim Arthur visits Australia
The new global Chief Executive of the RAD visited Australia recently to participate in the recruitment of a new National Director for Australia. Tim Arthur spent a short amount of time in Sydney, arriving soon after taking up his post in London at the beginning of March.
Australia is a key market for the RAD and Tim was keen to personally oversee the recruitment of the new National Director who will be announced in the coming weeks.
Whilst in Australia, he took the opportunity to visit and speak with RAD Members, Faculty and Examiners nearby in Sydney and to observe class being taught at a couple of studios. He was impressed by the high standard of teaching he observed and the expertise of those he spoke with. Tim also enjoyed meeting some students to form an appreciation of the wider RAD community here in Australia.
RAD Australia staff spent a brief amount of time sharing their recent projects with Tim and updating him on initiatives they have been leading, as well those they are working towards in the near future on behalf of the Academy here in Australia. They were also excited to hear of the progress of the recruitment process.
Whilst this was only a short visit, Australia has undoubtedly left an impression on the new leader of the RAD. We look forward to welcoming Tim back for an extended visit encompassing more of Australia in the future.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to all the teachers, examiners, and students who took the time to show me the incredible work that the RAD is doing across Australia. I was unbelievably inspired by my trip and I have a very full notebook of fantastic suggestions and ideas for ways in which we might take the RAD forward in the coming years. I appreciate everyone’s generosity, commitment, and passion. RAD Australia is such a vital and vibrant part of the RAD family and I’m so grateful for your warm welcome and kind thoughts. I can’t wait to come back."
