Natalie Hammond

Born in Coonabarabran, Natalie began her dance training on the Gold Coast where she was a Star Dust Junior studying tap, jazz and musical theatre. She developed a strong love of classical ballet under the guidance of Annette Womersley. After moving to Melbourne, Natalie graduated from the Australian Ballet School, completing her diploma of dance with Honours. Whilst studying at the school, Natalie was a silver medalist at the Asia Pacific Ballet Competition in Tokyo and a bronze medalist at the Adeline Genee Awards in London.

In 1995, Natalie joined the Queensland Ballet and won critical acclaim for a variety of senior roles. She was also a member of the company during their highly successful coast-to-coast tour of the United States.

In 2000, Natalie left the Queensland Ballet to pursue other interests and spent time with World Dance Company dancing numerous international styles for their QLD tour and Expressions Contemporary Dance Company before taking up freelance and guest teaching throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Natalie has previously adjudicated Charters Towers, Redlands and Grafton Eisteddfods.

Natalie joined 2ballerinas adult dance school in 2010 with a strong passion for teaching ballet and all styles of dance. She has recently enjoyed guest teaching company class with Australasian Dance Collective (formerly Expressions Dance Company) and working on music videos for the band Sheppard and Hayden James in and around Brisbane and is a proud mum of two teenage boys.
