Codes of Conduct
As a leader in our field the RAD sets and maintains high standards of teaching practice.
All RAD Registered Teachers must adhere to the Code of Conduct and Code of Professional Practice set by the Academy. As best practice the Academy recommends that its teachers apply for a Working with Children Check (appropriate to your state or territory).
The Royal Academy of Dance supports the Australian Guidelines for Teaching Dance produced by Ausdance in conjunction with members of the dance industry.
These guidelines include:
- Effective dance teaching methods
- Safe Dance practice
- Professional business practice for studio teachers that includes:
Child protection
Code of ethics for dance teachers
Parents’ code of behaviour
