Festival of Dance 2021 - WA

Returning to the June long weekend in 2021, the Festival of Dance will take place on 3-7 June in Perth, Western Australia.  

RAD Australia invites students to take part in the Festival of Dance WA 2021. This Festival is open to students from WA studying all methods of training and aims to bring together the dance community in a positive and uplifting way.

The Festival of Dance gives WA dancers the chance to compete for a range of awards including four coveted and prestigious scholarships and has long been a springboard for the careers of many aspiring and pre professional dancers in the region. The Festival has become a highlight for the dance community of WA and a fantastic performances opportunity for students.

The Festival will culminate in a Gala performance on 7 June, with performances from the award recipients and special guest artists and the awarding of the coveted David McAllister Cup. New in 2021 will be the awarding of a Junior, Intermediate and Senior Centenary medal to RAD students, recognising 100 years of the Academy in 2021.

Entries are being accepted here. The closing date is 20 April.

We are looking to secure further financial support and sponsorship for this event in what has been a tough year for our industry. This event aims to develop and strengthen the dance community from grass roots to a professional level and employ and support freelance dance artists. The event also includes a Gala performance, usually with professional dancers from our state company, West Australian Ballet and employs professional freelance dancers, choreographers and teachers. Should we experience a significant number of withdrawals from this or any event, we may reconsider proceeding with the event. In the event of any cancellation due to COVID-19 entries will be refunded.
