Dance Teachers recognised by another dance awarding society

To make dance more accessible, enhance our community, and support the development of dance education around the world, we are expanding the different routes to RAD RTS.

What’s new?

  • We are accepting applications from teachers with a Level 5 dance teaching qualification from Australian Teachers of Dance (Member Teacher and Licentiate Teacher) and Cecchetti Ballet Australia (Licentiate Teacher and Fellowship Teacher*)
  • We are accepting applications from teachers residing in Australia with UK qualifications. Teachers holding a level 4 dance teaching qualification from the ISTD, IDTA, BBO and DBfT (T&Cs apply), may apply in Australia.
  • Our new Access Route (Vocational Track) is coming in January 2025.

We look forward to welcoming the best qualified dance teachers from other esteemed institutions globally into our prestigious dance community.

If you are interested in exploring teaching opportunities with the RAD, we encourage you to learn more about the eligibility criteria and application process. Click here for more information.

Together, we can continue to inspire and nurture the next generation of dancers.

We understand that changes can sometimes bring concerns and would like to reassure our existing members that the expansion of our eligibility criteria has been carefully planned to benefit everyone. This development will help us to embrace more teaching styles, genres, techniques, and cultural perspectives, whilst enabling more incredibly talented educators from diverse backgrounds around the world who have previously been unable to access our membership, to join us.

*We are currently accepting applications from teachers who hold regulated Level 4 dance teaching qualifications from ISTD, IDTA, and DBfT, and level 5 from BBO except for those residing in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and China. If you have obtained dance teaching qualifications from other awarding societies, please submit your expression of interest below, and we will contact you.

IDTA, Level 4

“Gaining RTS will mean that I would be the first ballet teacher in Bahrain to offer Royal Academy of Dance to students on the island. As RAD is one of the most important dance education organisations in the world; it will be amazing to see students’ passion for dance grow throughout the RAD training.”

BBO, Level 5

“Becoming an RAD Registered Teacher is not only a personal aspiration but also a strategic move to elevate the quality of ballet education I can offer through my academy. I am excited about the potential for growth and development that this affiliation can bring, and I am fully committed to meeting the requirements and standards set by the RAD.”
