Jayson commenced his dance studies with Kay Cranwell, Gwen Mackey and Susan Taylor in Adelaide before furthering his studies in London and New York. On returning to Adelaide, Jayson began studying at the University of Adelaide, completing a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) in Dance methodology allowing him to teach dance in schools to year 12 level.  He is currently teaching at Reynella East College. He also runs “Unlimited Feet Performing Arts” which celebrates its 30th year this year.

Jayson holds the Theatrical, Classical and Tap Teaching Diplomas of the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing, (COMDANCE) and the Teaching Certificate and Teaching Diploma of the Royal Academy of Dance.

In 2008 Jayson was appointed an examiner for the COMDANCE and examines students in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Theatrical exams throughout Australia & Asia. He has also been appointed as a Practical Teaching Supervisor for the Royal Academy of Dance who assesses the final unit for new teachers gaining their RAD Teaching Qualification. Jayson adjudicates competitions throughout Asia and Australia.
