Congratulations to our 2022 Advanced 1 Bursary Finalists
RAD bursaries, scholarships and competitions provide opportunities for young people to gain performance experience and to further their study and training.
Recognising the impact of the pandemic on opportunities for students, and also hoping to ensure as many students as possible could participate, the Australian Advanced 1 Bursary was offered online for the first time this year.
Entries were submitted from all across Australia and a panel of guest adjudicators including Amber Scott, Catherine Goss, Lana Jones, and Olivia Bell, praised the training, technique, and performance qualities of the candidates, and commended the hard work of both students and teachers in preparation.
Candidates submitted a film of themselves undertaking a class led by Nicky Gattorna and also a film of them performing a variation from the selection provided. You can read more about the format of the Bursary here.
A finalist has been chosen from all the states entered, and their entries are now being assessed by RAD Artistic Director Gerard Charles and former Principal Artist Kirsty Martin, with the winner to be announced by the end of May.
