2022 RAD Australia Partners

Choreographic Partner

RAD Australia are delighted to be partnering with Sydney Choreographic Centre in 2022 on a range of initiatives that will inspire creativity and nurture new choreographic talent in Australia. Find out more here.

About Sydney Choreographic Centre

Co-founded by artistic director Francesco Ventriglia and managing director Neil Christopher, Sydney Choreographic Centre opened in March 2021, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of choreographers.

The philosophy that underpins Sydney Choreographic Centre is “learning by doing”. Participants receive training and mentorship from practising dance artists of international standing and from leading professionals who are active in associated fields. The goal is to develop choreographers with strong, individual artistic voices who can take their place anywhere in the world, armed with the knowledge gained and connections made at Sydney Choreographic Centre.

Sydney Choreographic Centre offers an inclusive, supportive, stimulating place in which to experiment and learn, with different levels of involvement possible. A special feature of the Centre is its resident performing group, Sydney Choreographic Ensemble. Program participants will have access to the ensemble, whether by taking daily class with its members or working with it on choreographic development. Sydney Choreographic Ensemble was introduced to the public in April when it performed the world premiere of GRIMM, a new contemporary dance work choreographed by Francesco Ventriglia and co-produced with Riverside Theatres. Sydney Choreographic Centre is based in inner-city Alexandria, a short distance from Green Square Station.
